Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

930PM: Not as warm tonight. Felt pretty good and my easy pace was almost 1 min faster than it has been during this heat wave. Need to transition to working out in the cooler AM but I've been saying that for weeks.

Definitely. Your winters are brutal - you gotta take advantage of the cool summer mornings or what's left? End the suffering, Neil!

No kidding. I just can't pull the trigger. I'm so not a morning person. Gotta figure out a plan or some trick to convince my body to get up so early. I'm not a coffee guy so that's out.....hmmmm.

I take a caffeine pill (started out with half, but now I'm up to a full one) and I'm good once that kicks in...

Good idea. But my problem is getting outta bed. I'm good once I'm up. I will try that though if I can drag my arse outta bed for once. :)
